Reclaimed solid hardwood beam end table. Perfect for plant stands, drink stands and night stands.

Material: Kiln dried, Reclaimed timbers of Oak, Walnut, and Cherry.

These tables were reclaimed from trees that were toppled during storms on our farm in York County PA.  The trees were milled into beams, dried in our solar kiln, and crafted into a tables, all on our farm property. You will find characteristics in the timber such as knots and cracks that naturally occur during the drying process, and some saw marks from the milling process. The timbers have been lightly coated with a commercial-grade finish to seal the wood and help reveal the beautiful natural grain. Rubber feet are added to prevent the table from marring the floor where it is placed.

Woven leather straps are used on the arched backrest to allow curved lumbar support.  Two inches of foam in the seat for added comfort.  The soft leather straps are woven together with strong nylon straps to produce a “sling type” chair that is comfortable, strong, and light weight.

Exposed fastening hardware provides an industrial look.  Rubber feet are used to prevent slipping or marring of floor.

Wood source: reclaimed from storm damage, saw milled, air dried, and kiln dried, all on our farm in York County, PA.

Top: solid black walnut, live edge, 1.5” thick, sealed with tung oil.

Frame: solid quarter sawn red oak.  Ebonized using a natural mordant of vinegar and steel wool that penetrates deep into the wood and reacts with the tannin fibers to create a dark black color that is durable and scratch resistant.

Knot hole inlay: turquoise crystals covered with epoxy resin.

Size of each piece: approximately 4” wide x 4” high x 4” deep

The floating shelves include a small keyhole on the back to allow for flush mounting to the wall.  They are easily installed using the mounting hardware that is included (drywall anchors or screwed directly to wall stud).  

The shelve also includes a 1-inch plastic tube that is inserted from the top.  This allows the shelve to be used as a dry vase or bud vase.

A clear top-coat finish (no stain) is added to protect the wood grain.

All of the pieces are crafted from the same tree, but each piece is unique and will show different grain patterns, knots, and colors.
